Elliott Pearson Story and Research

Exposition: The old man is alone, and he only paints in black and white.

Inciting Incident: His grandson comes to stay with him. The old man’s daughter wants the old man to teach his grandson how to paint.

Conflict: His grandson paints in color, and is happy. All of his paintings are full of color.

Crisis: His grandson refuses to paint the way the old man is teaching him to.


Resolution: The old man learns how to paint with color and sparks a new love for color painting. His grandson ended up teaching him a far greater lesson in life, to try new things and find happiness in the little things.
